Faucet Repair and Installation in Las Vegas
A dripping or stiff faucet in Las Vegas is usually a scaled or worn cartridge, because 17 grain water deposits mineral on the very parts meant to move. We repair the cartridge, stem or valve where that fixes it, and replace the faucet only where the body itself has corroded.
What is included
The work itself
Faucet repair
Cartridge, stem, O-ring and valve replacement to stop drips, handle stiffness and low flow.
Faucet replacement and installation
Removing a corroded or dated faucet and fitting a new kitchen, bathroom or bar faucet, supply lines checked.
Aerator and pressure service
Clearing the mineral that collects in aerators and cartridges and drops the flow at one tap.
Worth knowing
Before you book
The drip is usually the cartridge
A tap that drips after you shut it off is nearly always a worn or scaled cartridge, not the whole faucet, and that is a repair.
Low flow at one faucet
If only one tap is weak, the aerator or cartridge has scaled up. Low flow everywhere is a pressure or supply issue instead.
When replacement is the honest call
Once the faucet body is pitted or the mounting has corroded to the sink, a new faucet costs less over time than chasing parts.

What changes between these places is the permitting authority, the water utility and the age of the housing, and all three change how this job goes.

Questions
Faucet Repair, answered
How hard is the water in Las Vegas?
Las Vegas Valley Water District publishes valley tap water at roughly 291 parts per million, about 17 grains per gallon, and classifies it as very hard, around two and a half times the national norm. The minerals come from the Colorado River through Lake Mead. It is the single biggest reason water heaters, fixture cartridges and dishwashers wear out faster here than their rated life suggests.
Do I need a permit to replace a water heater in Las Vegas?
Yes. Clark County, the City of Las Vegas and the City of North Las Vegas all require a permit for a replacement as much as for a new installation. Which of the three you deal with depends on your address rather than your mailing city, because a Las Vegas postal address can sit in unincorporated Clark County. We pull the permit and meet the inspector as part of the job.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Monkey Wrench Contractors LLC holds Nevada State Contractors Board licence 0092999 and trades as Monkey Wrench Plumbing. We are a BBB accredited business with an A plus rating, and every technician is background checked. About thirty minutes before your appointment you get a text with the assigned technician's photo, name, licence number and live ETA.
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. The inspection is free and you get a flat-rate price before any work begins, so the number you approve is the number you pay. If the scope changes once something is opened up, we stop and re-quote rather than adding to the invoice at the end.
Are you actually available 24 hours a day?
Yes, dispatch runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on (702) 900-5992. If water is actively running and you cannot stop it, shut off your main first and call second, because that one step is the difference between a wet floor and a flooded one.
Is there help with the cost of finding a leak?
There can be. The Southern Nevada Water Authority runs a Leak Detection Assistance Program that gives qualifying single-family customers a voucher worth up to $250 toward leak diagnosis or the first hours of repair. You apply as the account holder before work begins and use a participating plumber, and it is one voucher per property per calendar year.
