Water Treatment for Las Vegas Hard Water
Las Vegas water runs at about 17 grains per gallon, which is officially very hard. A softener changes the hardness, a filter changes what is in the water, and reverse osmosis changes what you drink. They solve different problems and are often confused.
Where it is in a valley home
Treatment equipment sits where the supply enters the house, commonly in the garage near the water heater. Reverse osmosis is separate, usually under the kitchen sink with its own tap.
What usually goes wrong
